Priya has been learning about the Japanese style poem called a haiku. They are made up of 3 lines each having a specific number of syllables. The first line has 5, next has 7 and the final line has 5. She had to submit a couple for her homework assignment a few days ago. Since then she has been creating quite the collection of haikus. She told me yesterday, "Mom writing haikus is addicting. I'm really into it and I can't stop". I may reference this post in the future when she's a teen and may have other ideas of what's addictive.
