How many plungers should one family own?

Our plunger to bathroom ratio is 1:3 which worked well for us in the past. However, now that we have a potty-trained 3 year old boy who seems to really like toilet paper, it is perhaps time to invest in at least one more plunger, bringing our ratio up to 2:3 and thus giving us better odds of having one on the same level of the house as the clogged toilet when its needed. I am not exaggerating... this is not for entertainment value, we have 3 toilets and all 3 of them had to be plunged today. It's as if Sanjay intentionally planned this attack on us... he timed the cloggings within hours of each other and managed to alternate floors so that we had to transport the plunger each and every time. Thus, I am looking into purchasing an additional plunger. In all my research... I realize that the reason we may have been having so much trouble clearing the debris is because we've been using a sink plunger in the toilet! Had no idea there existed more than one kind of plunger. That Wikipedia sure is genius!

Obviously the boy doesn't need to use this much toilet paper... but I think he likes to ball it up and drop it in, until virtually all the water is absorbed in the 2-ply sea of tissue. For some reason, this is fun for him. The same way he thinks it's fun, when I ask him to walk over to me, to go out of his way to make sure one of his steps lands on top of the vaccuum. And, when I ask him to sit down so I can help him with his shoes... he must jump in the air first. I don't think I'll ever understand toddler boys.

Anyway, there have been lectures in the past about his bathroom habits and specifically the amount of toilet paper used, but today he has strict rules... "from now on, you may only use 3 squares of toilet paper, that's it". So, he's been counting out the squares and I've been checking with him... not only are we clogging less toilets, but the boy is learning a little math, too.

Hip Hop Night

Daddy recently downloaded some new hip-hop songs that he wanted to share with the crew. So, donned in their carefully-tipped baseball caps, the gang took to the playroom dance floor. They took turns running up to and launching off a chair positioned in the center of the room... how could I resist grabbing the camera to capture these great action shots?

There's also a very interesting video that goes along with this. The kids are doing the robot dance... just in case you don't recognize it when you see it. Sanjay's new nickname... "Quick Feet"?

My Other Blog

My friend Leda and I entered the Amazing Digital Scrapbooking Race... and so, for fun I created another blog where we'll post our layouts. Not sure if you'd be interested or not, but if you want to follow along you can do that here. We will have a new challenge once a week for 6 weeks... I think. For some reason, now that I'm looking for this information, I can't find it. Anyway, you should expect at least weekly posts at the other blog. :)

Ring Around The...

Inspired by a great picture taken by my friend TD, I attempted the same pose with my kids. However, it's just not the same with only 2 little munchkins. Besides, hers was taken from a nice angle with fantastic lighting in an almost toy-free room, but mine does have the fine flying hair going for it!
