How do you effectively teach your kids respect? Priya is only 5, yet she acts like a teenager. We constantly have to remind her about respecting her parents as she would her teacher. She does things at home that I know she would never do at school. The words “thank you” and “please” have just been lost from her vocabulary and she has become reluctant to take “no” for an answer... pushing and pushing... asking and re-asking... until I blow my lid. On the drive to school there was a lack of soothing songs on the radio and instead lots of lecturing from Mom.
